Confidence
You have to believe in your abilities. Especially when you are not playing well or when someone else doubts you. Remember what they used to say about Gretzky? Too small and too slow. Somehow, I don’t think he very took any of it to hear.
Set Goals
Setting goals and following through with them is one of the best confidence builders around. As well, they help turn your attention toward what you want and what you focus on is what you get. Know exactly what you want to achieve and by when. Answer the question, “What exactly do I want to happen?”
Patience
Great athletes don’t get where they are without getting discouraged now and then. Part of their greatness is having the ability to work through adversity and to never give up. You won’t see physical results from training in only one day, but all of your efforts do have an impact on the outcome.
A Plan
You wouldn’t decide to climb Mt. Everest, pack a picnic lunch and head up the mountain. You need a detailed plan outlining the steps along the way. THE NORM program is the plan. It offers you a system on how to achieve the highest level of training.
A Mentor
Let THE NORM be that someone what has been where you want to be and learn from him. It’s true that we all have to learn on our own lessons, but don’t go and reinvent the wheel. If you can learn directly from someone who has achieved the goals you want to achieve and who will support you, you’re already way ahead of the game.
Have Fun
Enjoying what you do is crucial to getting where you want to be. Keep your training a positive influence in your life.
Commitment
You must be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals. This doesn’t mean you have to do it all, it just means you are willing to do it if need be. The one thing that you’re not willing to do will end up being your road block… every time! Take action towards reaching your goals DAILY. This is good, old fashioned hard work.
